Personalized feeds on jaanix by joe
image
Added personalized Atom feeds to jaanix, now if you're logged in you can get a feed from any jaanix page that is personalized for you. All your latest tunings will apply too.

You can track anything, including comments to a specific post, or all replies to you, or just the front page - it is up to you. Go to a page on jaanix that you want to track and click on a feed icon at top right corner - that link is your personalized feed URL that you can add to your favorite RSS reader.

The feed URL will have extra feed= parameter, if you want to keep you preferences secret - never give it to anybody. If you accidentally lose it or suspect that somebody got a hold of it - you can reset feed URL in tools / privacy.

Fine! I'll be happy if I could restrict number of jaanix feed items to 15 a day.

You can control the number of new items you get with "recent" slider. If you move it to the left you will get less frequent updates, but higher quality items. Move it to the right - you will get the latest (and maybe not greatest)

that was never clear to me.

Cool.

But once you create a personalized feed, how will you update the personalization model for me? By reading the entries elsewhere, you lose all feedback that you're gathering when I access the feeds through Jaanix.

The feedback is not lost, all the feed items point to jaanix (will set up a redirect later), and all your latest slider tunings apply too. It also respects settings like threshold and show / hiding of old links.

Sure, but what about jaa-ing and nix-ing? Not sure you should really bypass the role of the reader.

Now you can use the toolbar button for that.
